OBINNA EGU- What a Legislator should not be!.
While some legislators, especially those at the national level, may be reputed for living up to expectations of democracy, legislature, and the people.
The likes of Obinna Egu has made a mess and mockery of the whole thing, thereby disappointing himself, democracy, the legislature as an institution, and the people of Ngor Okpala that gave him the mandate. This is evidenced in the litany of suspensions and sanctions he has acquired since he was accidentally sent to the Assembly. Inarguably, these are the only constituency projects he can boast of in Ngor Okpala- Never in our history have we had it this bad, never. ihere emegbula nwanne onye ara!
As a lawmaker can Obinna Egu tell us with certainty the official cost of running Imo State? No? Ok!
As our representeative and the only eye and mouth piece we should have in Imo state affairs, can he tell the total revenue that accrues to our Local government, Ngor Okpala from both the Federation Account, the state accounts and the internally generated revenue (IGR) sources, which revenues have been sidelined, pocketed, embezzled and looted by his slave masters, Rochas Okorocha and his son in-law for roughly 7years, under his nose?
Oh! What a docile, inept and ineffectual representative we have in him?
By constitutional rights of the people of Ngor/Okpala and the roles of the House members, nothing should stop the elected representative of the people from knowing about the credit and debit account of Imo State, and indeed what gets to his people, the Ngor/Okpalans, and whether or not it actually did, how it gets to them. since his party has refused blatantly to give us elected chairman.
But would this accidental (dis)honourable lawbreaker called Egu query? He would rather prefer to appease and please Gov. Okorocha than the people that voted him into office.
How many times has he challenged or sort for remedy or pally for the non-payment of workers' salaries and retirees' pensions of Ngor/Okpala origin? What of our brothers and sisters whose shops, businesses and sources of livelihood where demolished, destroyed and cunningly reacquired without adequate compensation as required by the constitution, has he made case for them?
Whose interest is he actually serving in IMHA?
His slave master, Rochas or the people that voted him?
I insist that if only and only, and only, and only Obinna Egu would make a rethink and a u- turn and decide to serve the Ngor/Okpala people that voted him into office rather than serving Gov. Rochas Okorocha as he is currently doing, Ngor Okpala would indeed be a better place.
Obinna Egu is what a lawmaker should not be and The time to make The desired change is now.
The time is now to make Ngor Okpala great again.
